Dev calls to phase out C++ as tangled mess; formal specs key to proving AI code correct
thomasahle · x · 2026-11-04
Developer TCzajka argued it's time to phase out C++, saying he used to read each new standard cover to cover but gave up after C++17 because the language has become a tangled mess nobody can hope to understand. Thomasahle amplified the point: in a world of AI-written code we'll need to prove code correct, and new ways of writing specifications are a promising direction.
