Developer Tw93 announced that MiaoYan, his native Markdown notes app, now covers iPhone and iPad with a single one-time purchase alongside the free, open-source Mac version.
Key points:
- Local-first: notes stay in a user-chosen folder, no data collection; sync is delegated to iCloud Drive or other file-sync clients
- Built natively with Swift 6 (no Electron); three-column layout and split mode with 60fps bidirectional scroll sync
- Wikilinks/backlinks, LaTeX, Mermaid, git-like local version history, auto-formatting, a CLI, and Markdown presentations
- The author shares a 7-year iteration story, including resolving an Apple developer payment issue by writing to Tim Cook
