Developer vista8 released Qiaomu Jot, an open-source (MIT) macOS menubar app that captures thoughts, selected text, screenshots and files into your Obsidian daily note or any Markdown folder with one shortcut.
Key features:
- ⌘⇧J quick capture with live Markdown rendering
- ⌘⇧K save selected text with auto-appended source link
- On-device OCR for screenshot text
- Works without opening Obsidian
The author says the first version took only 3 minutes to build; the app will be downloadable after Apple notarization.
