Garry Tan amplifies AI-satire covers mocking Popular Mechanics' own AI artwork

Y Combinator president Garry Tan retweeted a set of AI-generated parody covers of Popular Mechanics: three faux issues set in 1903 (backyard flying machine), July 1969 (moon landing survival), and a 19th-century backyard, all headlined "NOBODY ASKED FOR THIS." The satire mocks the magazine's recent use of AI-generated cover art by turning its own iconic historical moments into a critique of the choice.
