Google's Willow chip does in 5 minutes what takes supercomputers 10 septillion years

Google's Willow quantum chip (105 superconducting qubits) completed a specialized benchmark in about five minutes that would take classical supercomputers an estimated 10 septillion years. Key finding: scaling up error-correction qubits actually reduced errors, a milestone toward fault-tolerant quantum computing. Google's quantum lead Hartmut Neven even tied the result to the many-worlds interpretation, suggesting quantum computers may hint at parallel universes.
