Sam Altman: People must not cede control of the future to superintelligence
patience_cave · x · 2026-11-04
Sam Altman stated that people should always remain in control of the future. OpenAI rejects the notion that it would be acceptable for humans to be relegated to doing what "AI systems think makes sense to reward in humans." He argued the requirement that humans not cede control to superintelligence should ultimately constrain AI progress. Commenters voiced support, saying delays from such safety constraints are worth it.
