Claude Code early member Cat Wu leaves Anthropic after two years
lydiahallie · x · 2026-11-04
Cat Wu announced her last day at Anthropic. She recalls joining two years ago when Claude Code was a small internal tool: she had Claude build an RL environment, steering it for tens of hours without manually writing a line of code — it worked, and she was hooked. She notes that at launch most users approved every permission prompt by hand and used Claude mainly for Q&A and writing tests, a stark contrast to today. Colleague Lydia Hallie posted a heartfelt goodbye.
