A 10-step persistent context system for Claude Code, with copy-paste template
blaizedsouza · x · 2026-11-04
A thread compiles a "10-step persistent context system" for running Claude Code overnight without losing the plot, with the full formulas and a copy-paste prompt template shown in the image.
- Fix role and constraints before the run; load working memory from CLAUDE.md ⊕ progress.md ⊕ memory.md.
- Decompose the task into ≤10 ordered atomic steps; each step reads only the files it needs and is externally verified (pass/fail) before state advances.
- Write verified results and failures back to persistent state; compress repeated failures into explicit rules; summarize periodically to avoid re-reading the repo; resume long runs from saved state.
- The verbatim template uses <role>/<context>/<instructions>/<format> tags: split steps, read only needed files, verify every step, log decisions/failures/fixes to memory.md, and only declare done when verify passes and memory is updated.
The thread also promotes the author's full "Loops and Graphs" course; the template itself is freely usable.
