An early Claude Code engineer shared her Anthropic farewell: two years ago she asked the internal tool to build an RL environment, steered it for tens of hours without manually writing a line of code, and was hooked — that's how she joined the team. At launch, most users approved every permission prompt by hand and mostly used Claude for Q&A and tests; usage has transformed since.
