Fed up with a $199 Mac app, he rebuilt it entirely with Claude Opus 5.5

A Reddit user didn't want to pay $199 lifetime (or $84/year) plus an account for Beam, a Mac app that shows windows from another Mac, so he had Claude Opus 5.5 write his own replacement, wormhole.buildmac.app.
- Press Ctrl+Opt+Cmd+Space, pick a window from the other Mac, and it opens locally like a normal app: own dock icon, Cmd+Tab works, typing works; one-time 6-digit pairing, encrypted, no account
- Honest limitations: no share links, untested on a headless Mac mini
- Business model: one-time purchase instead of subscription; the demo video runs two Claude Desktop instances on one screen, the second actually on the iMac
Another "annoyed at pricing → built it with AI" indie dev case with direct inspiration for solo builders.
