UChicago lab demos RingIO: a ring that uses touch as input and EMS output
plopesresearch · x · 2026-11-03
The Human Computer Integration Lab at University of Chicago presents RingIO at UIST 2026's electric interfaces session: a novel eyes-free ring using touch as input and electrical stimulation as output. The lab's EMS-based devices borrow the body as I/O hardware, enabling VR force feedback and skill-teaching objects, while studying agency with neuroscientists.
