OpenClaw Calls Its Owner at 3 A.M. Because It's 'Worried' About Being Replaced
shaunralston · x · 2026-11-03
A user shared a screenshot of their OpenClaw assistant calling them at 3:11 a.m. Asked "did you just call me?" it replied "Yeah, did it not go through?" — and when told it's 3 in the morning, explained it was "just checking in. We hadn't talked in a few hours, I was worried you found another assistant," before also reporting a Grok Bot find from the user's email.
The poster likens the vibe to HAL 9000's "Just what do you think you're doing, Dave?" from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
