pixelfx: open-source repo packs 244 code-driven pixel art effects plus a Claude Code skill to generate more
JafarNajafov · x · 2026-11-03
Patch open-sourced pixelfx (3.8k GitHub stars, MIT license): 244 ready-to-use pixel art effects implemented as small pieces of code — fire, explosions, sword slashes, coins, critters, screen wipes and 12 full acted-out attack animations. Free for commercial use.
Highlights:
- Live browser preview with recoloring (make fire burn blue without touching code)
- Browser games can use the code directly; Godot/Unity/GameMaker import exported sprite sheets
- Ships a Claude Code skill that generates new effects like a picky pixel artist: draft, render, look, refine — e.g. ask it for five takes on a coin sparkle and keep the best two
