Xiaomi open-sources Robotics-1, a robot foundation model trained on 100K hours of trajectories

Xiaomi has open-sourced Xiaomi-Robotics-1, a ready-to-use robot foundation model. It uses a two-stage recipe: large-scale embodiment-free (UMI) pre-training on 100,000 hours of trajectories spanning 1,700+ household, commercial, industrial and outdoor scenarios, followed by post-training alignment on a relatively small amount of real-robot data.
Clean scaling shows up during pre-training — more data and bigger models yield lower action error — and that scaling carries over to real robots after post-training.
