OpenAI's new Daybreak mode still blocks cybersecurity requests like code injection
yassineyousfi_ · x · 2026-11-03
A user found OpenAI has quietly enabled "Daybreak" mode for new turns, but a task involving arbitrary code injection still got blocked: the session exited with status 143 after 2m46s, and the UI warned "Some cybersecurity requests are still limited, even when Daybreak is on," linking to an OpenAI help article.
The poster joked they "can't even do arbitrary code injection these days," showing that guardrails around security-related tasks remain strict even under the new, looser mode.
