AI agents could turn feature creep from a flaw into a competitive advantage

An indie developer argues AI agents may overturn the software design dogma that feature creep is a disadvantage.
Key points:
- If agents operate software on users' behalf, simplicity-for-humans matters less — software with 20 or 2,000 features is equivalent to the end user, as long as the agent knows how to use them
- Analogy: sending a human assistant to buy bread — you don't care about the store's aisles or checkout complexity
- The classic harm of feature creep (overwhelming users) may become largely irrelevant
Caveats: interfaces won't disappear (manual preview/adjustments remain), and more features still cost development and maintenance. New goal: make software so easy that people don't need to know how to use it.
