Professor fact-checks Musk: vacuum is the best insulator, space datacenters won't happen
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-11-03
Utrecht professor Jan Broersen argues Musk's claim that it's easier to "cool things down" in space is backwards: a vacuum is the best possible insulator and heat can only be shed via radiation, making space datacenters extremely unlikely in our lifetimes. Reposter teortaxesTex quips that this genre of European intellectual — still granting Musk engineer credibility before debunking him — will likely go functionally extinct within a decade.
