ByteDance Seed seen losing ~70 people as Princeton researcher Cai Tianle reportedly departs
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-11-03
Reports claim Princeton-trained researcher Cai Tianle (Medusa co-author, 'LLMs as Tool Makers') has left ByteDance Seed, with 70 departures over the past year. Commenters urge checking the denominator: Seed+Doubao total 2000 staff, with the core Seed team tiny. Still, the view is that even ByteDance will face pressure by 2027, becoming too much like Microsoft or Baidu — an 'internet company.'
