baoyu-design adds Motion: run Claude Design locally with real-time animation editing
dotey · x · 2026-11-03
Open-source project baoyu-design (5.9k stars) adds a Motion feature, building on Claude Motion with multi-user collaboration and editor support:
- Live preview: no waiting for full video renders — you see Motion rendered from the start and can tweak easily (anyone who has rendered video via browser screenshots with Opus 5.5 knows how slow that is)
- Text stays editable, with Design System and style support
- Runs on any agent, including the DeepSeek Harness plugin
- A previous release added LAN team sharing: a local IP+port URL with read/comment/edit permission levels, all data staying on your machine
The author cautions against high expectations — output quality is still limited and benefits from a Motion-capable model (e.g. Opus 5.5) plus specific prompts/skills. But he believes the direction is right: a simple video editor where marking and commenting is enough to revise, with more features planned in sync with Claude Motion.
