Texturing an entire Blender street with Qwen Image 2.1 via open-source StableGen add-on
sakalond · reddit · 2026-11-03
A developer textured an entire street corner in Blender using local models via StableGen, their free open-source add-on, then produced cyberpunk, anime and papercraft variants.
- Assets: car, woman, bench, lamp etc. are TRELLIS.2 meshes generated from Qwen Image 2.1 reference images; buildings/road are simple blocks.
- Texturing: Qwen Image 2.1 (int8), 10 cameras; each view generated from that camera's depth/geometry render, projected and blended onto all meshes; per-camera prompts list only visible objects to avoid hallucinated details.
- Logo: Masked Edit — paint a region, describe the change, regenerate only that region through cameras that see it (dev branch).
- Looks: separate texturing runs with different prompts (photoreal uses Marigold V2 PBR maps), baked and rendered in Cycles.
Ran on rented RTX 3090/4090 cloud GPUs plus a 16GB RTX 4080. Qwen Image 2.1 is non-commercial licensed — check licenses before commercial use.
