Anthropic's Claude smart reports flag employees' 'inefficient' AI usage to employers
SuB8u · x · 2026-11-03
Anthropic has launched smart reports for Claude Enterprise: an interactive charting tool that samples team AI session transcripts, categorizes tasks, outputs and costs, with up to 10 free reports per organization per month.
The contentious part: reports flag 'inefficiencies' to employers, including sessions with 'no work value' or that were 'personal or off-topic' — sample data shows 115 abandoned sessions across 30 people costing $106, and 18 personal sessions by 14 people costing $217. Anthropic insists the tool shouldn't be used for individual performance evaluation or employment decisions, but the poster sarcastically notes the reports get shared with managers who are 'not supposed' to use them in reviews.
