Rethinking futarchy: should we take experts' judgment or their values?
jessi_cata · x · 2026-11-03
Futarchy suggests governing by combining the population's values with the beliefs of people who are usually right. The author questions this split: since epistemology is a convergent instrumental goal, the default should arguably favor the values of the right people, borrowing only their judgment. An open-ended governance-philosophy debate worth following for AGI-adjacent discussion.
