Independent analyses with Claude and Grok suggest Qwen3.5-27B was grown from the 9B checkpoint

Jonathan Chang reports his Claude-based analysis found Qwen3.5-27B was "grown" from Qwen3.5-9B via layer looping — and an independent discovery reached the same conclusion using Grok. Retweeted by Andrew Curran, who asks what this technique tells us about model scaling if true.
Note: this is community reverse-engineering speculation, not officially confirmed by Alibaba, but two independent discoveries raise its credibility.
