Math professor has Codex rebuild his site in 40 min on a burner computer
AlexKontorovich · x · 2026-11-03
Rutgers math professor Alex Kontorovich, inspired by Vidit Nanda's 18-minute website rebuild, directed Codex from his phone to remake his personal site.
Key setup: Codex has full permissions on a dedicated "burner" computer in his office, while his real website stays off-limits to the AI — edits there happen on his own machine under closer supervision. About 40 minutes later a polished dark-themed academic homepage was done. He shares it for feedback, expecting iterations. The pattern — isolated dedicated machine with full agent autonomy, human oversight for critical assets — is worth copying.
