The 2nd International Workshop on "Neuro for AI & AI for Neuro: Towards Multi-Modal Natural Intelligence" takes place February 22–23, 2027 in Montreal alongside AAAI 2027, with under three weeks left for paper submissions.
- Neuro→AI: translating cortical microcircuit principles (inhibitory-excitatory balance, sparse and modular coding, dendritic nonlinearities) into more efficient, robust multimodal and foundation model architectures.
- AI→Neuro: AI-driven analysis of calcium imaging, electrophysiology and behavioral data, plus gradient-based training of biologically realistic models.
- New lens this edition: how context-dependent brain learning can reduce forgetting and enable continual learning in deployed foundation models.
- Invited speakers include Blake Richards (McGill/Mila), Doina Precup (Google DeepMind/McGill), Ida Momennejad (Microsoft Research), Markus Marks (Chan Zuckerberg Biohub), Paul Cisek, and Priya Panda.
