OpenAI's LifeVal benchmark shows GPT-6 Astra hitting 80.6% on everyday tasks

OpenAI's new LifeVal benchmark tracks model performance on everyday life tasks: GPT-5.2 scored 49.3%, GPT-5.4 jumped to 73.0%, GPT-5.5 reached 77.4%, GPT-5.6 hit 80.0%, and GPT-6 Astra tops out at 80.6% — with clearly diminishing gains.
The poster argues this explains why consumer agents are finally viable: models now handle most daily tasks, and while ChatGPT will capture much of that value, plenty of room remains for focused vertical products.
