AI researcher: drop the AGI longevity fantasy — humans may hold volition for ~13 more years
danfaggella · x · 2026-11-03
Replying to the optimistic take that AI will solve longevity and let people flourish for millennia, danfaggella argues humans may have only a baker's dozen years left of any volitional control over the future. Anyone persisting into the 2040s is more likely a 'ward of a greater intelligence' — a charity recipient watching incomprehensible progress, not a contributor. He doesn't object to longevity research itself but says the main-character fairytale of AGI-granted eternal life is dying before our eyes.
