Full fruit fly brain connectome mapped; simulated brain aces code review at 88.3% then rejects every correct solution

Google Research announced a connectomics milestone: the complete male fruit fly brain has been fully mapped (Michał Januszewski and Viren Jain).
A simulated brain built on the connectome scored 88.3% balanced accuracy on code review, but in a harder test it rejected every correct solution.
The takeaway: even a tiny brain can learn classification, but out-of-distribution generalization remains a core gap for both biological and artificial intelligence.
