CI tip: GitHub Actions rounds each job up to a full minute — merge short jobs to save cost
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-11-02
GitHub Actions (and alternatives like Blacksmith) round every job's runtime UP to the nearest minute, so a 10-second job still bills a full minute (Linux 1-core $0.002/min, 2-core $0.006/min). If you run many short jobs, combine them into one job and parallelize inside it to avoid paying for rounded-up idle time.
