David Patterson predicts superintelligence will end all tech change by 2030
davidpattersonx · x · 2026-11-02
Turing Award winner David Patterson offers a bold prediction: superintelligence (SI) will use technology for us, help us learn it, eliminate all bugs, push features to their optimal limit, and even discover all remaining technologies — after which "technology will never change" and people will use the same tech their entire lives.
His core claim: we live in a very brief period of rapid technological development, and technology will reach its limit by 2030 — framing AI as the endpoint of tech evolution rather than a new beginning.
