Transformer and NYMag unveil AI Power List: 26 people quietly running AI
ShakeelHashim · x · 2026-11-02
Transformer, in collaboration with NYMag, publishes the "AI Power List" — 26 largely under-the-radar figures who quietly decide how AI gets built, governed and fought over. The piece frames a new power structure: a few private companies wield nation-state-level wealth with mostly self-governance, hundreds of employees are nearing centimillionaire status, and much of the real power sits with dozens of virtually anonymous people beyond the familiar names.
