A4 print-ready PDF stress test: only Claude, Gemini and Mistral pass out of 10 AI models
gerardsans · x · 2026-11-02
The author built a 5-page A4 stress test — magazine text wrapping around shapes, crisp diagrams and radar charts, layered transparency and watermarks, designer layouts with big typography, and rich isometric illustrations — and ran it against 10 AIs: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Meta, DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, Mistral and Manus. Only 3 survived:
- Claude: the clear winner — the only one keeping diagrams and icons sharp with every composition intact
- Gemini: best UX with great native in-place editing, but only basic layouts survive
- Mistral: renders the PDF through the web so advanced layouts work, more effort but a level above the rest
The other 7 failed outright for print-ready output. The author then put the winner, Claude, on a real job.
