Developer ssh4net demonstrates the classic portal sampling trick in path tracing: with portals placed at off-screen window openings, 64spp renders show dramatically less noise and correct light transmission from the bright exterior, approaching the quality of a 2048spp reference across three scene comparisons. "Some old tricks are still useful," the author notes.
