Benchmark rigor is getting muddled between training-data and eval-data design
JoshPurtell · x · 2026-11-02
The author argues that debates around a recent benchmark reflect a broader confusion between two different standards of rigor: data design aimed at clean policy gradients versus data design aimed at interpretable model evaluation. Since both apply to roughly the same environments, the boundary between them has become blurred.
