Epoch AI figure output growing 1.6x per year — the only 'wall' is November's zero
SamuelAlbanie · x · 2026-11-02
Responding to whether Epoch AI's research figure output is hitting a wall, Samuel Albanie shares a tongue-in-cheek regression chart built from all 295 epoch.ai posts (Jun 2021–Oct 2026): monthly figure output still grows 1.6x per year (90% CI: 1.4–1.8x), with October 2026 a record 63 figures. At this trend, Epoch would publish one figure per hour by 2033. The full case for a wall: zero figures so far in November — and this chart, made outside Epoch, regrettably doesn't count either.
