A new book excerpt recounts a behind-the-scenes exchange: as Huang talked to attendees, floor conversation turned to compute scarcity — much to Nvidia's CEO's benefit. Brin said OpenAI president Greg Brockman "was hounding me for compute" at dinner. Musk marveled at the chutzpah: "Dude, you stole my charity! You can't be a huge dick then ask for favors." Brin also mocked Brockman's famous 2010s diary — which surfaced in Musk's unsuccessful lawsuit against Sam Altman — saying "If I did I'd burn it."
