Scaling past 100 robots without an army of field engineers: 5 ops practices
StewartalsopIII · x · 2026-11-02
A retweet of @joeharris's field-tested advice on operating 100+ robots without hiring a large team of field engineers:
- Automated triage so autonomy engineers stop reading rosbags all day;
- Stream 30-second abort windows instead of 50GB rosbags;
- Diff CAN logs instead of blindly swapping actuators;
- Run 3D disengagement replay before rolling a service van;
- Turn field failure traces directly into regression tests.
