Beginner's tips for MiniMax H3: audio first, ≤3 refs per shot
bmallCakeDiver · reddit · 2026-11-02
A video creator shares hands-on lessons from making a short film with MiniMax H3, listing four tips to avoid hours of reshoots:
- Work the audio first — fit the shot to the line, not the other way around.
- Make characters distinguishable — e.g. add a hood to avoid character swaps, and use contrasting set dressing (red neon side vs green neon side) to anchor placement.
- Stack a custom prompt skill on top of the h3 prompting skill with your own rules (no looking at camera, shallow depth of field, etc.).
- Pass at most 3 reference images per shot (ref2va) — more dilutes attention and generates errors.
A French-language sample video demonstrates the results.
