AI coding agents lose architectural context across sessions — Reddit asks for fixes
darkshadowtrail · reddit · 2026-11-02
A developer who ships mostly AI-written code describes a persistent pain point on Reddit: new agent sessions lack context about architectural decisions made months earlier or whether existing data structures can be reused, forcing either heavy token spend on re-gathering context or manual re-explanation after reviewing the code themselves.
They note AGENTS.md could help but worry it would bloat in a large monorepo, and ask the community for more sophisticated approaches to long-term context retention.
