Inflation-adjusted MacBook Pro got 20% cheaper over 8 years, then 2026 took it all back
randal_olson · x · 2026-11-02
A Thrifle chart shared by Randal Olson shows the inflation-adjusted base US launch price of the 15/16-inch MacBook Pro fell from $3,344 in 2016 to a 2024 low of $2,667 — about 20% cheaper. Apple's 2026 price hike to $3,399 erased that entire eight-year decline in a single year, returning to nearly 2016 levels.
