DeepSeek v4.1-flash not secretly updated: API fingerprint unchanged since Oct 27
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-11-01
A crowd-sourced fingerprint check answers whether DeepSeek v4.1-flash was quietly updated again: it wasn't. Since Oct 27, multiple model aliases (deepseek-chat, deepseek-reasoner, v4-flash and more) have routed to the same v4.1F-1017 build with fingerprint bc19ba97cbe016479903222bb1578db6, still active.
The question arose from a viral demo: a single prompt asking deepseek-flash at max thinking effort to build a procedural 3D Pokémon Pallet Town with no external assets, no tool calls and no retries — 140k tokens, 10 minutes, an impressive 3D build despite a wrong map layout.
