Vibe coding a local screen-recording Chrome extension with Claude in 2 minutes
Merzmensch · x · 2026-11-01
Merzmensch shares a spontaneous vibe-coding session: needing a tool to record his window, tab, or a selected area (with optional audio), he simply asked Claude — and got a stable Chrome extension in 2 minutes.
Per the screenshot, the extension offers three recording modes (tab / screen & app / region), an audio toggle, and MP4 output, and keeps recording the current tab even when you switch away. He stresses it's fully local — no data sent to servers, no ads, and only the single function of recording — and it works perfectly.
