Filmmaker pushes back on 'AI movies have no soul' with Halloween short made in invideo

Video creator Josh Daws released his Halloween AI short SMASHED, made with invideo, and pushed back on what he calls the laziest critique in film right now: "AI movies have no soul."
His argument: the soul was never in the puppets or the camera — it's in the choices. Which take to use, where to cut, how the kid reacts with his eyes when the candy starts to move. He made every one of those choices himself; the machine just rendered them. In his view, AI isn't outsourcing creativity, it's letting it out.
