Researcher calls for a clear write-up of cruxes in 'more AI is the only fix' safety arguments
LinchZhang · x · 2026-11-01
Linch Zhang asks for a clear write-up of the cruxes for and against "the only way out is through"-style arguments — the notion that current AIs are already dangerous enough (e.g. in cyber and bio) that only further AI development can secure things. He finds the idea very suss and expects the general public to agree, but notes it is a common implicit conception in the SF AI scene and worth hashing out publicly.
