Leaking secrets from air-gapped PCs via radio signals emitted from RAM
hapax_legomena · hn · 2026-11-01
An arXiv paper demonstrates a covert channel against air-gapped computers: malicious code modulates RAM to emit radio signals that broadcast secrets like encryption keys to a nearby receiver. The work shows memory-bus electromagnetic leakage can be weaponized even on fully offline machines, posing a real threat to high-security isolated environments.
