Lightcone operator publicly calls Scott Alexander's Anthropic strategy 'unethical'
ohabryka · x · 2026-11-01
ohabryka, operator of Lightcone/Lighthaven, publicly said she believes Scott Alexander is "acting unethically and causing great harm" with his strategy of joining Anthropic to get "into the room where it happens," arguing he does more to cause preference falsification than she does. She'll keep supporting him at ecosystem-standard levels but won't grant special privileges as a neutral infrastructure provider. She also praised Scott's move from a Twitter thread ("truly atrocious arguments") to a blog post, saying it gives the conversation a chance to progress — unlike peers who silently pursue similar lab-entry plans.
