Windfall 2.5 ships recurring-payment tracking for its no-bank-link, local-model expense tracker
rudrank · x · 2026-11-01
Windfall, a private iPhone expense tracker that never links to your bank, released version 2.5. It uses a local model to parse natural sentences ("Hey Windfall, I spent $6.75 at Starbucks"), receipts, Siri commands, or pasted transaction lists into reviewable entries.
New in 2.5:
- Recurring payments: see upcoming bills and subscriptions for the next 30 days (demo shows $1,880.45 due, $22,584.52/year) with overdue tracking;
- Accounts as cards: customizable card designs and networks for easy identification;
- Suggested accounts: predicts which card you usually use at each merchant.
Also a notable indie case study of combining on-device models with strict privacy to break into personal finance apps.
