Researcher says Anthropic banned him for "training a competitor" despite never distilling Claude

Researcher jiahaoshao1 (retweeted by Stanford NLP) publicly accuses Anthropic of flagging him for "training a competitor." He says he never distilled Claude — RL rollouts came from a strong open-source model, with Claude only used to submit jobs and run analysis.
He reports that since the flag, anything touching RFT, SFT, or training larger models gets him blocked, Opus 5.5 downgraded to Opus 5, or the session killed outright. He criticizes Anthropic for building its models on the world's data while treating paying users doing research automation as enemies.
