Google employee corrects record: Gemini API text is SynthID-watermarked, after account mocked Anthropic for watermarking
Angaisb_ · x · 2026-11-01
X user Angaisb calls out Google's inconsistency on AI text watermarking. The screenshot shows Google employee TreyNguyen's public correction: after checking with the team, text generated via the Gemini API IS SynthID-watermarked — his earlier statement was wrong, and the same applies to Google AI Studio and Antigravity.
The irony: a Google-affiliated account had claimed "we don't have any of this funny business" while criticizing Anthropic for watermarking its outputs — despite Google being among the first to watermark AI text.
