Comparing the 'OpenRouter for tools' MCP servers: Treg, Monid and Agentik
Iron-Man1234 · reddit · 2026-10-31
Monid, Treg and Agentik all pitch themselves as the 'OpenRouter for agent tools'. The author (who works with the Agentik team) compares what each MCP server exposes to the model:
- Treg: catalogsearch, catalogget, call, callmedia, balance, mytools plus feedback/review tools; Bearer header or OAuth
- Monid: remote server with OAuth; the model discovers and inspects tools before a run, results come back as normalized JSON; also ships as a skill and CLI
- Agentik: discovertools, inspecttool, runtool, getrun and an account check; a public endpoint serves discovery/inspection with no account
All keep the full catalogue out of context and let the model search — key once catalogues get large. They differ on post-call records: Treg returns cost (HTTP header / MCP field) and keeps a per-call ledger; Agentik returns a run ID showing what was reserved and billed.
